How to Stop Binge Eating in 3 Simple Steps

Step # 1  

Feed yourself after a binge – don’t worry about stopping yourself now- you basically can’t – logical brain goes offline

Step #2

Be kind to yourself – give yourself a real reward

According to a study in the US national library of medicine, tells us that binging on food creates a flood of dopamine to the brain – which is the “feel good” hormone.

“Dopamine is a neurotransmitter critically involved in the reward and motivational aspects of eating”  

Addictions studies show that people who have addictive tendencies have lower dopamine levels in their brain.

After you binge- see it as an attempt to take care of yourself. Take it as a sign that you need lots more self-love or more things that feel good in your life.

So the 2nd step after a binge is to take care of yourself – do something that will create more dopamine.

– take a few hours just for you

– curl up with a good book or movie and relax

  • and speak nicely to yourself.
  • Exercise
  • Do something creative
  • Supplement with tyrosine
